Built on Craftsmanship and Clear Communication

We founded Rowan & Mortar after watching friends and neighbours struggle through stressful home renovations. Too many projects suffered from sudden extra charges, tradespeople failing to turn up, and cheap framing materials hidden behind hasty plasterwork.

We decided to run a different kind of building firm. We choose graded C24 timber, genuine British gypsum plaster, and resilient porcelain tiles for every build. Our lead builder remains on your site from the first demolition day right through to the final coat of paint.

You always know what your project costs before we start, with clear itemised paperwork and no hidden surcharges. We take pride in leaving every home spotless and standing by our workmanship long after the dust settles.

We never rush the preparatory work. When timber framing is square and plaster dries naturally, the decorative paint finish stays crisp for years.

How We Keep Standards Consistent

We order our building supplies from established trade merchants and inspect every timber delivery directly on site. Our lead tradesperson signs off each stage before the next begins.

Transparent Pricing

We write down every cost in plain English before we sign contracts. You will never face surprise charges halfway through your project.

Respect for Your Space

We lay heavy-duty floor protection from your front door to the work area every single morning. We tidy away all tools and sweep thoroughly before leaving.

Solid Craftsmanship

We never take shortcuts behind wall cavities or under floorboards. We build every partition and fit every tile as if we were working in our own home.

We started Rowan & Mortar to give homeowners honest craftsmanship without unexpected bills or disappearing builders. Our family-run crew looks after your home just as carefully as we look after our own.
